A Tool for AYRH-Responsive Planning

Are you a youth advocate who wants to make family planning and reproductive health plans more responsive to the needs of young people? Use this new digital advocacy tool to identify gaps in your countries’ plans and make recommendations for improvement—to share directly with your policymakers.

Use this tool to reflect on and discuss…

  • One of your country’s plans—this can be local, district, regional, or national.
  • Activities planned for young people ages 15–24.
  • If enough budget is allocated for these youth-centric activities.
  • How to strengthen the plan to better meet the needs of youth.

TARP was developed by the Evidence to Action (E2A) Project, in collaboration with young advocates across West Africa. E2A, USAID’s global flagship for strengthening family planning and reproductive health service delivery, is led by Pathfinder International in partnership with ExpandNet, IntraHealth International, and PATH.

How It Works

Join 2-3 fellow youth advocates, set aside a few hours, and follow these steps to assess if your plan uses tailored, innovative strategies for meeting the needs of your country’s youth:

Get to know your national, regional, district, or local plan

Locate strategic priorities, objectives, activities, and budget amounts.

Enter planned activities

You’ll enter and organize activities into four categories: demand generation, service delivery, enabling environment, and coordination.

Determine if activities align with the needs of youth

Use “evidence-informed practices,” as your guide.

Get your results

Using data generated through this tool, determine if your country is making a big enough and smart investment in youth.
