Evaluating advocacy initiatives: what works?

An important part of advocacy is evaluating impact. This working paper brief aims to examine and discuss challenges related to evaluating advocacy initiatives, identify factors associated with successful advocacy interventions and provide additional methods and tools to use in evaluating them. It was published in 2018. While this is not an African-authored resource, the discussion it raises on evaluating advocacy is useful to African advocates.

This is a shorter version of a working paper published by the International Initiative for Impact Evaluation entitled “Evaluating advocacy: an exploration of evidence and tools to understand what works and why”. It was published in December 2017.
