Covid-19 and its Impact on Youth Participation in Development in West Africa

This report discusses, on the one hand, how the various measures have affected all social strata, particularly young people, with emphasis on the access to education, employment, civic participation and the level of gender inequality. On the other hand, the analysis also shows that the youth, apart from being mere victims passively suffering the impact of the Coronavirus, have also proved that they are actors to be taken seriously in the management of the pandemic. The latter did not remain idle even though they were affected by the pandemic. In a context where the participation and contribution of young people in the management of the pandemic is widely challenged, our research shows that they did indeed and significantly assist in the fight and management of Covid-19.
