We are pleased to invite you to join one of the largest pan-African mobilizations in the world – African Liberation Week 2022!
This year, from May 23 – 29, Africans Rising for Justice, Peace and Dignity, is calling on you – our members, supporters, and allies – to join us in collective action during the African Liberation Week.
The theme for this year’s mobilization is “Africa for Africans”, highlighting the need for African wealth and resources to benefit her citizens and for African citizens to take ownership and responsibility with unity of purpose. We are planning a week of action across various communities in Africa and this is an opportunity for us all to reflect on Pan-Africanism and the historical call by Marcus Garvey for Africans to unite and take ownership and control of their homeland. Within this year’s theme, we will be addressing issues of:
• Decolonisation – capturing the unfinished business of decolonisation
• Gender Justice – ensuring gender equality in carving the Africa We Want
• Health – equitable access to quality healthcare amid COVID-19
• Climate and Environmental Justice – advancing the push for climate and environmental justice towards the #AfricaWeWant
Take action this African Liberation Week by planning an event in your community! We welcome all ideas – big and small – and also have a toolkit with a few ideas of things you can do in commemoration of the week-long mobilization.
Activities marking the African Liberation will be held from 23rd to 29th of May 2022. Register your event or activity to be part of the 2022 mobilisation.
