About the role
The Operations Lead’s mission is to ensure that all team members in a rapidly growing context are equipped with the tools and systems needed to implement their work – and that partners and participants have a positive experience working with MobLab.
Key responsibilities
- Facilitate development of new operational systems as MobLab scales up and becomes an independent organisation
- Ensuring the logistics for trainings, workshops and events run smoothly, are accessible, and contribute to an excellent experience for participants.
- Support participant registration, invoicing, materials, and other operations and logistics
- Ensure organisational systems are working, complementary, and that the team is inducted in best practice.
- Ensure all MobLab systems are integrated and values-aligned
- Research and provide options for best practice in maintaining systems – from password security to records management
- Ensuring there is clarity of process across systems
- Keep systems updated, clean, and iterate usage based on what’s working e.g. Slack, Drive, Asana.
- Keep the team skilled up!
- Support team and project coordination as needed
Requirements
A person who would thrive in this role would be someone who is methodical, highly detail-oriented, and excited about improving organisational systems (especially to make them more accessible to people from diverse backgrounds).

- Strong project management skills — able to map out a plan, proactively communicate with stakeholders, plan for mistakes, and debrief for lessons learned
- Able to communicate in an English-speaking workplace
- Self-motivated
- Willingness and ability to travel internationally at least twice a year
- Residing within time zones GMT -6 (Central Time) to +3 (East Africa Time)
A strong candidate might have a few of these…
- Experience with training, education, or social change
- Experience making organisations and/or learning spaces as inclusive and accessible as possible
- Living, working, or significant travel experiences in a variety of countries around the globe
- Connection to social changemakers or social movements
- Conversant, fluent, or native speaker of one or more languages besides English, especially Spanish, French, Arabic, or Portuguese. Any languages other than English are an asset as we work globally.
