This role is responsible for overseeing the design, development, delivery, learning and adaptation of MobLab’s learning experiences, curriculum and pedagogy to ensure they are of the highest quality, inclusive and transformative. This includes managing and growing our network of facilitators and trainers globally, and ensuring continuous improvement through listening, learning, and adaptation.

Key responsibilities (not exhaustive)
  • Overseeing MobLab’s learning experiences programme, including delivery and adaptation of existing approaches and training such as our flagship Campaign Accelerator training, as well as overseeing the development of new ones.
  • Leading MobLab’s pedagogy development for all our trainings and learning experiences.
  • Ensuring that the delivery of every training, coaching and learning experience is exceptional (and effectively evaluated using consistent metrics).
  • Building and maintaining relationships with partners, potential clients, trainers, and programme participants.
  • Overseeing project scoping, setup, and management of training and coaching services. This includes staff/trainer resource allocation, budgeting, invoicing, and capacity management.
  • Managing and building out a global trainer and facilitator network to deliver and continuously improve MobLab’s learning experiences.
  • Ensuring continuous improvement of MobLab trainings, curriculum, and approach through dynamic monitoring, evaluation, and learning.
  • Communicating and reporting on programme delivery internally and externally.
  • Travel to at least two team retreats per year, plus to several learning experiences as needed.
Requirements

A person who would thrive in this role would someone who is deeply committed to people-powered social change, who has a background in training/education, and who is interested in supporting transformative social change around the world.

Must haves
  • Experience with training, facilitation, and/or coaching
  • Skilled in connecting deeply with people, especially across cultural difference
  • Able to revise, refine, or recreate programs to make them effective in diverse contexts
  • Strong project management skills — able to map out a plan, proactively communicate with stakeholders, plan for mistakes, and debrief for lessons learned
  • Interest in global current events and people-powered systems change work
  • Able to seek and integrate feedback from diverse stakeholders into programme and curriculum design
  • Strong understanding and experience with advocacy and campaigning in complex environments
  • Fluent in spoken and written English
  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally at least a few weeks per year
  • Able to move between strategy and implementation
  • Self-motivated
  • Residing within time zones GMT -6 (Central Time) to +3 (East Africa Time)
A strong candidate might have a few of these…
  • Background coaching of trainers/educators around a shared curriculum
  • Facilitation or training experience specifically in social change spaces
  • Grounding in a specific pedagogy, and experience implementing that pedagogy with an existing curriculum
  • Living, working, or significant travel experiences in a variety of countries around the globe
  • Connection to social changemakers or social movements
  • Conversant, fluent, or native speaker of one or more languages besides English, especially Spanish, French, Arabic, or Kiswahili.
