Across the world, human rights defenders are facing a rising tide of anti-human rights rhetoric and a rollback of their fundamental freedoms. Many are being intimidated, threatened, prosecuted and sentenced to lengthy prison terms for their activism.

 

Through the #StandsMyWitness campaign, CIVICUS is calling for global action to end the persecution and harrassment of human rights defenders.

 

Ahead of the campaign’s second anniversary in July 2022, we are inviting interested organisations and movements to host activities that will raise awareness about the plight of human rights defenders in their communities, countries or regions.

CIVICUS will provide a grant of about USD 500 to USD 3000 to support your activities.

 

Only 10 activities will be funded.
