We are a coalition of Kenyan youth, youth workers, and youth-serving organizations, concerned about grave mental health issues and challenges among adolescents and youth in Kenya. In 2019, we came together to engage the Mental Health Taskforce set up by the President and develop programmes to address the issue under a memo titled OUR MENTAL HEALTH; OUR SHARED OWNERSHIP; OUR RESPONSIBILITY. Our memo was fully adopted and formed part of the final report as annex 8 available here https://mental.health.go.ke/download/mental-health-and-wellbeing-towards-happiness-national-prosperity-a-report-by-the-taskforce-on-mental-health-in-kenya/. Our concern is the fear of addressing symptoms of mental health outcomes among adolescents and youth (the present and future of Kenya) instead of the real issues facing our society and nation.

We, therefore, seek to strengthen the coalition and engage more stakeholders by inviting more organizations to join as regional organizational coordinators of youth-led organizations.
