In partnership with the Heinrich Böll Foundation, the Advocacy Accelerator has launched an advocacy capacity strengthening programme especially designed for young feminists based in East Africa. The Challenging Patriarchy Programme is intended to increase knowledge and strengthen the advocacy capacity of rising feminists, to transform the lived experiences of women and girls within specific local or national contexts.
The programme is designed for emerging feminists aged 18-30 years old currently working on or planning campaigns that challenge patriarchal norms in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Eritrea, Ethiopia, South Sudan and Somaliland. A total of 30 candidates will be selected from the application pool with the programme set to commence in the month of September. The programme will be facilitated on a custom designed platform which will enhance the learning experience of the participants.
