As the global focus on climate change deepens, there is an opportunity to elevate the dialogue on the need for stronger policies and resource dedication to human health within the climate change mitigation and adaptation framework. Africa Dialogues will bring together thought leaders, policymakers, climate activists and health experts to unpack the linkages between climate change and health and spearhead discussions on what must be done to position health at the heart of climate action plans.
Objectives of the Webinar
This session will aim to:
1. Highlight the impacts of climate change on health and make a case for prioritising health systems in response to the growing burden of climate change.
2. Advocate for the mainstreaming of health in climate change conversations, mitigation, adaptation and financing policies.
3. Spotlight best practices in building adaptive, climate-resilient health systems, and discuss strategies and actions needed to drive action in this area.
