A virtual storytelling event set to change the narrative on gender-based violence, one story at a time.
Join youth advocates, young women leaders, policymakers, activists, community leaders, healthcare workers and experts as they narrate their commitment to end violence against women through storytelling.
Since the Covid-19 outbreak, violence against women and girls has intensified, as resources and efforts to combat this shadow pandemic have been diverted towards Covid-19 relief. Women speaking up about their plight has been reduced to mere stories, overlooked by decision-makers and policymakers. With this Power to Youth virtual event, we aim to reclaim the power of storytelling in driving change. We all have a role to play, both men and women, to advance the end of sexual and gender-based violence.
Through storytelling, we’ll dive deep into the experiences of those affected by sexual and gender-based violence, and the commitment stories of youth leaders and policymakers across the globe. The event is aimed at creating global awareness, regional participation and encouraging country-level accountability towards ending violence against women and girls.
