Article explores why scientists are using academic social networks to support their activities, including survey results from thousands of researchers. In particular, it discusses the growth of ResearchGate, an online network connecting scientists and researchers to share and access scientific output, knowledge, and expertise (i.e. a “scholarly version of Facebook or LinkedIn”).
