WEBINAR: Leveraging Digital Health Interventions for Adolescent and Youth Sexual and Reproductive Health
September 24, 2019 @ 3:30 pm - 5:00 pm
The Challenge Initiative (TCI) aims to sustainably scale-up evidence-based approaches to increase use of modern contraceptive methods among all women 15-49 years of age in urban poor areas with a special emphasis on women ages 15 to 24. TCI works with local governments to improve the knowledge and attitudes of adolescents and youth related to contraceptives, improve their self-efficacy to use and access to contraceptives, and create an enabling environment that allows them to freely obtain informed-choice contraceptive services. Adolescents and youth are typically more tech savvy than older generations. As a result, digital solutions are an effective way to reach youth with information they need and want about puberty and contraceptives, as well as link them to service delivery points.
This webinar will:
- Provide an overview of the recently released WHO Guidelines on Digital Health Interventions for Health Systems Strengthening, focusing on how the recommendations relate to adolescent sexual and reproductive health needs.
- Provide an overview of upcoming guidance from UNFPA and WHO on demand-side digital approaches and content for adolescent sexual and reproductive health programming.
- Detail the upcoming WHO-UNFPA Digital Accelerator Kits for routine provider-focused programmes across the lifecourse that include a strong focus on adolescent sexual and reproductive health
- Share learnings and programmatic considerations from WHO’s Adolescent/Youth Reproductive Mobile Access and Delivery Initiative for Love and Life Outcomes (ARMADILLO study)
