Hivos is seeking qualified candidate for the position of Junior Project Officer for the She Leads Project. The officer will be responsible for providing support to the operational and programmatic activities of the She Leads Project.

The She Leads project focuses on promoting the full and effective participation and leadership of women and girls in political and societal decision making in Zimbabwe. The project incorporates a strong focus on working at the sub-national and grassroots levels, which supports our aim of working with young people and women from marginalized communities.

Aim of the job

Under the supervision of the Project Manager She Leads, the Junior Project Officer provides support to the operational and programmatic activities of the She Leads Project.

Your responsibilities

  • Develops strategic internal reports and project documents.
  • Project related Administrative tasks (project logistics support, proposal assessment, contracting and reporting).
  • Prepares and minute taking of programme staff meetings and workshops
  • Organise and implement Hivos interventions within the context of the She Leads project
  • Represents the project and contributes to communication about the project.
  • Develops project capacity building program together with the project manager

Your profile

  • A university degree in social sciences or relevant field from a reputable and accredited academic institution.
  •  Two years’ experience in area of Project management, Women Empowerment and Gender Equality
  • Affinity with the development sector (donor agencies, NGOS, csos);
  • Ability to learn quickly and work independently and with minimum guidance.
  • Strong communication – especially writing- skills
  • Good computer skills
  • Creative, inquisitive and non-dogmatic mind;
  • Special skills in ICT to effectively interface with the media

What we offer

Hivos offers a challenging position in an international environment.

The regional office is based in Harare, Zimbabwe. This position will be based in Zimbabwe. Hivos welcomes international & regional applicants but can only offer a position to only those with a valid work permit for Zimbabwe. Hivos can only offer employment on local terms and conditions.
