Every December, OutRight Action International hosts LGBTIQ activists from around the world in New York for a week of high-level meetings and activities at the Headquarters of the United Nations.
The aim of Advocacy Week is three-fold:
Advocacy Week 2019 will kick off with two days of training during which activists will brainstorm how to effectively use the spaces being created during the week. Throughout the rest of the week, OutRight sets up strategic meetings with diplomatic missions, governments, and individuals, as well as organizing events at the United Nations for activists to take part in and make use of. There will also be opportunities for activists to meet key donors and media during their stay in New York.
This year, Advocacy Week will be held from December 4 to 13.
If you are an LGBTIQ activist and feel you and your organization will benefit from taking part in OutRight’s Advocacy Week, please fill out the questionnaire. Your answers will inform the selection process, and assist us in the development of a relevant engagement strategy, based on a real-time assessment of the needs of activists on the ground
