Women in Dev is launching ‘A Series of Progressive Dialogues’. In collaboration with Women in Global Health and Wellbeing for Women Africa, we will convene some of the world’s leading voices to unite, highlight and mobilise action around some of the world’s most pressing issues. The concept for this series of online dialogues came out of the calls to action from the WID conference, and our commitment to continue creating these ‘spaces’ within the sector for honest and genuinely progressive dialogues around key issues.
Our aim is simple: uniting women to drive change in international development. This digital web-series represents a safe space to have the much-needed, honest discussions that will take our sector, our governments, our philanthropists, and the movements and communities we work with, to a more altruistic and progressive future. We’ll encourage you to utilise the Women in Dev 2020 ‘Calls to Action’ as a critical base for candid conversation.
In the second instalment of “Women In Dev Presents: Power and Privilege” we will discuss anti-racism, white privilege and feminist leadership in the context of reforming institutions across the development sector. We’ll look at how we can enable effective development by spotlighting the sector’s ‘white saviour complex’.
